Budget DIY Bathroom Reno
As part of our recent home renovation, we had a tiny bathroom off the pool area that desperately needed some love.
It was perfect in summer when the kids were in and out of the pool, but it wasn’t connected to the main house, which meant it barely got used. So when we saw it connected to the games room wall, we decided to make the most of it and open it up for better access from inside the home.
Since it was just a minor bathroom, we didn’t want to spend too much of our budget on it. That meant sticking with the existing plumbing layout and going full DIY.
Here’s what we did:
Vanity: We scored a great deal on a Timberline vanity from a local showroom on clearance.
Tiles: We matched the main tile from our ensuite to create flow and warmth, choosing a feature tile to give the space some character.
Natural Light: The room was only 1.5x2.5m and had no natural light, so one of our best decisions was changing the pool access door to a privacy glass door. It’s north-facing, so it now floods the space with light and honestly made the biggest difference to how the room feels.
Simple changes, smart design decisions, and a little creativity turned this unused corner into a practical, beautiful little bathroom, without blowing our budget.
